LAILA AT THE BRIDGE
Having witnessed her brother’s battle with drug addiction, former child bride Laila gives up everything to help those addicted to heroin in Kabul. Laila struggles to prevail against an addiction crisis, an HIV epidemic, meager resources, and corrupt government in a country on the verge of collapse. (in production with Laila At The Bridge LLC)

In a moving first-person documentary, a Chilean filmmaker confronts her impending blindness by chronicling her struggles and her return home, where she reunites with family and befriends a group of street vendors who teach her how to be blind. The injustice of solitary confinement and the transformative power of art are explored in Herman’s House, a feature documentary that follows the unlikely friendship between a New York artist and one of America’s most famous inmates as they collaborate on an acclaimed art project. Sedition is a 16-minute documentary by Min Sook Lee that explores issues around media and bias, and sensitive issues in the classroom. Sedition profiles two young spoken-word artists who grapple with issues of racism and censorship, and offer their thoughts on the power of poetry to effect social change. Borderless tells the story of undocumented workers in Canada who take the low-paying jobs that Canadians refuse to. They sew clothes in Montreal, clean high rises in Vancouver and build houses in Toronto. Their low wages subsidize our first world economy. (produced with ESL Productions Inc. for KAIROS)
